Whitmire: Decision to ‘retire’ was Finner’s

Mayor John Whitmire held a press conference this morning to address the resignation of former Police Chief Troy Finner. Mayor Whitmire has named Larry Satterwhite interim chief of the Houston Police Department.

Mayor Whitmire says Finner’s decision to retire was entirely his and he did not force Finner to resign. Mayor Whitmire will speak to the Houston Morning News at 7:20 tomorrow morning.
