Memorial Day weekend is all about barbecues, parades, and, of course, road trips. However, for the forecast, this means warmer temperatures and higher humidity.

Forecast for Atlanta Friday

There will be a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon. Damaging winds and low threat of a brief tornado.

The day will be partly sunny with a high in the mid 80s. A light west wind will shift to the southwest, increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

The chance of rain continues through the night under partly cloudy skies. The low will be just below 70, with a southwest wind 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Forecast for Atlanta Saturday

There will be a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly mid-afternoon. The day will be partly sunny with highs just under 90. Expect a west wind around 5 mph.

The chance of rain diminishes after midnight, but a fleeting shower cannot be ruled out. The night will be partly cloudy with a low just below 70. The west wind will become calm after midnight.

Forecast for Atlanta Sunday

Sunday will be the least active storm day. Risk of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 8 a.m. The day will be mostly sunny with a high in the low 90s. The chance of precipitation is 30%.

Showers are possible, as well as thunderstorms until after midnight. The night will be partly cloudy with a low around 70. The chance of precipitation is 40%.

Memorial Day Weekend in the North Georgia Mountains

The chance of rain in the north Georgia mountains this weekend will be greater than in the city. However, the trade-off is cooler temperatures. Expect highs in the mid 80s and lows in the low to mid 60s.

Forecast in Atlanta for next week

On Tuesday, a threat of showers may persist, but the rest of May will be drier, but much cooler.
