The Buffalo Bills still have a huge question to answer this offseason

The Buffalo Bills have been through a rollercoaster offseason so far, but it’s not over yet. Among the big changes that occurred were the trade of star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans and the loss of Gabriel Davis in free agency. Obviously, the offense took some big hits.

No one knows what to expect from star quarterback Josh Allen. This is truly a huge season that will determine how good he will be for Buffalo. Can he elevate the offense around him or will he take a step back without his two most prolific weapons?

That being said, the Bills still have one big question to answer this offseason. This time, the question is on the defensive side of the football.

The Buffalo Bills still have a huge question to answer this offseason

NFL.com analyst Kevin Patra revealed what that question is for the Buffalo Bills. He believes the biggest offseason priority the franchise needs to focus on has to do with longtime star Von Miller’s status.

Here’s what Patra had to say about the Bills’ situation with Miller:

Miller took a pay cut to stay in Buffalo this offseason, but even with $8.5 million guaranteed, he’s not sure he’ll make the final roster if the club doesn’t see improvement from of the future Hall of Famer Things move quickly in the NFL, and Miller hasn’t earned a Pro Bowl nod since 2019. In 12 games last season, he didn’t generate a sack. , had 12 pressures on 164 pass snaps and made three tackles.

He went on to give more context about Miller and what the future might hold for him.

“The hope is that being even further removed from his 2022 knee injury can get the edge rusher back into shape, but that’s not a guarantee for a 35-year-old. If Miller can’t be productive in a rotation role behind Greg Rousseau and AJ Epenesa, it might be time to move on to Buffalo.

The Buffalo Bills are hoping Miller enters training camp looking much more dangerous than last year. As Patra mentioned, Miller did not record a single sack in 2023. It was the first time in his entire career that he did not record a sack.

At 35 years old, it’s entirely possible that Miller is running out of gas. If that’s the case, it’s disappointing to see him end his impressive career on such a low note.

All that being said, it will be interesting to see what the Buffalo Bills choose to do with Miller. Will they keep him on the roster hoping he can make some impact? We’ll just have to wait and see.
