FREE Swimming Lessons and Summer Safety Tips on Houston Happens!

HOUSTON (KIAH) – On today’s Houston Happens, we’ll talk summer swimming safety with British Swim School instructors. This week it’s Tasty Tuesday in the studio, and Rachel Low is here to help us celebrate National Burger Day!

We’ll also get the latest entertainment news from Scott Mantz and continue our “Journey to Paris” series, highlighting the top talents who will represent Houston at this year’s 2024 Olympic Games.

FREE swimming lessons

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death among children, especially those from low-income families. In the United States alone, drowning claims the lives of more than 300 children each year. In honor of National Water Safety Month, a partnership between Pool Scouts and Hope Floats Foundation is offering more than a thousand swimming lessons to children living in poverty. We are joined by two special guests: Ashley Yates And Greta Baccifava from the British Swim School of Pearland and Manvel, who will tell us more about this important initiative.
