Nighttime police chase through three counties comes to an end

Officials said the pursuit began with a report of a stolen truck in Ottawa County, and the pursuit also continued into Kent and Muskegon counties.

WALKER, Michigan – A chase that began with a report of a stolen truck and spanned several counties has ended in Walker.

The Ottawa County Emergency Management Agency said the truck was reported stolen shortly before midnight Monday night, but did not disclose where exactly it was stolen.

According to dispatch, the suspect then drove into Kent County before heading back into Ottawa County and crossing into Muskegon County. The pursuit then went back through Ottawa County before finally ending in Kent County around 1:30 a.m.

A squad from 13 ON YOUR SIDE saw the truck surrounded by Michigan State Police and Walker Police on 3 Mile Road NW, just off the EB I-96 exit ramp at the Alpine Ave.

Our team saw at least one person sitting on the curb in handcuffs, but it is unclear if there were more people in the vehicle or if there were additional arrests.

In addition, at least one of the truck’s tires had burst, leaving the rim completely exposed.

It is unclear whether anyone was injured during the chase.
