Grow Your Chispa Program Awards $10,000 Grant to Houston Latina Business Owner

HOUSTON (KIAH) – AT&T and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) announced that a Latino business owner in Houston received a $10,000 grant from the Develop your Chispa program.

Shirley Ronquillo, founder of Ronquillo Consulting Group LLC, is one of five awardees nationwide who applied for the grant earlier this year.

Ronquillo Consulting provides community engineering services designed to better understand a historically underserved community. They plan to use the $10,000 to purchase interpretive equipment and provide training to local leaders to expand their consultant base.

The Grow Your Chispa program is an initiative by AT&T and HHF to recognize Hispanic entrepreneurs who are paving the way to success for future generations. The program offered a $10,000 grant to entrepreneurs with a direct impact in their community. This year, a total of five entrepreneurs, one from each of the following cities: Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas and Miami, received a grant.

By providing grants to small businesses, AT&T and HHF hope to not only ease the financial burden, but also foster a support system that encourages entrepreneurship and helps small businesses thrive. For more information on the Grow Your Chispa program, including a full list of winners, click HERE.
