Scary injury for Dodgers NL rival Atlanta

Scary injury for Dodgers NL rival Atlanta

There was some bad news for the baseball world on Sunday when Braves outfielder and reigning National League MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. suffered a non-contact knee injury in the first inning of the Atlanta game against the Pirates.

Acuna was at second base and appeared to attempt a delayed steal before falling and immediately grabbing his left knee. It’s unclear what the extent of the injury is, although it should be noted that his left knee is not the one he suffered a torn ACL from in 2021.

The Braves are calling the knee injury a soreness at the moment. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that we see the extent of the problem and Acuna will be back in the lineup soon.

LA will keep a close eye on the Braves this season. Atlanta is just 1.5 behind the Dodgers in the standings. Hopefully the battle between the Dodgers, Braves and Phillies for NL supremacy can play out without any major injuries along the way.
