One dead in violent crash in Memorial City

HOUSTON (KIAH) – Police are investigating a fiery crash in Memorial City. This happened earlier this morning in the 2100 block of Memorial Drive. Police found a vehicle split in two and on fire. A woman died instantly. Investigators said she was speeding when she crashed into a tree and split the car in two. The driver was ejected from the vehicle before a passerby called for help. The roadway is now closed but is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. this morning.
