A few strong thunderstorms possible before a dry afternoon and evening

Showers will move southeast late in the morning and early in the afternoon. According to Kramlich, by 1 p.m., showers will have passed the Atlanta metro area and skies will become partly cloudy.

At dawn on Saturday, it will be 68 degrees in the city. The temperature will then rise to 88 degrees by late afternoon.

Sunday will be another hot day, with a high reaching 91 degrees. It will also be the driest day of the weekend, Kramlich said. Isolated storms are possible, but mostly sunshine is forecast.

“It’s summer there,” Kramlich pointed out.

A cold front that won’t drop temperatures much will bring back scattered showers Monday for Memorial Day. Chances of rain remain low and the rest of the week should remain dry.
