Department of Solid Waste Management Memorial Day Collection and Installation Schedule | City government

HOUSTON – May 24, 2024: In accordance with the City of Houston’s approved Memorial Day holiday schedule, curbside pickup services will be discontinued. SWMD storm debris collection efforts, already underway, will continue through Memorial Day. Please note the changes to residential hours noted below:

Monday May 27, 2024 (Memorial Day)

CITY HOLIDAYS: All storm debris operations will remain active. Additionally, the six neighborhood depots will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be no additional curbside pickups and all other SWMD facilities will be closed.

Tuesday May 28, 2024
Trash, recycling, yard waste and tree waste from Monday will be collected. All solid waste facilities will reopen.

Wednesday May 29, 2024
Trash, recycling, yard waste and tree waste from Tuesday will be collected.

Thursday May 30, 2024
Garbage, recycling, yard waste from Thursday as well as tree waste from Wednesday and Thursday will be collected.

Friday May 31, 2024
All collection services will resume their usual schedule.
