Buffalo wading pools are open for the season

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) All ten of Buffalo’s splash pads will be open for the summer starting this weekend. The paddling pools will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“We’re looking forward to a beautiful weekend, a warm weekend. So it’s about time to be able to open our water features for kids and families to enjoy,” said Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown. He says Memorial Day weekend is a time to honor and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives and served our country and the armed forces. “It’s also a time for families to come together, get together, cook and spend time together. And we’re happy that our water features are opening up to be part of this process of bringing families together,” adds Brown .

Public Works Commissioner Nate Marton says he’s really excited that the splash pads will be open as usual this year. “It’s a great community asset, a safe family environment, so we’re very happy to be able to do that,” Marton adds.

The parks are Ralph Wilson Park, Allison Park, Masten Park, MLK Jr. Park Basin, Lanigan Park, Lincoln Park, Cazenovia Park, Houghton Park, Schiller Park and Roosevelt Park. The swimming pools will open on July 1st.
