Police: 1 dead, 2 injured in shooting southeast of Houston

HOUSTON — A woman was killed and two other people were injured in a shooting Thursday evening in southeast Houston, police said.

The Houston Police Department said it happened around 9:30 p.m. Circle of Choatewhich is in a neighborhood off Allen Genoa Road, just south of 225.

Investigators said they believed the shooting stemmed from a home invasion, but they weren’t sure where it happened. A woman was pronounced dead at the scene while a man was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Police said a third victim, a man, showed up at a fire station, where he, too, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Investigators were working to learn more about what happened.

Eastside officers are on the scene of a shooting at 1100 Choate Circle. An adult female died at the scene, an adult male transported in critical condition.
