Houston Texans Ticket Prices Skyrocket After Big 2024 Offseason

After years of mediocrity, the Houston Texans are one of the city’s hottest tickets for the 2024 NFL season.

Not only do the Texans have reigning NFL Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year CJ Stroud and Will Anderson Jr., but Houston has also made huge moves this offseason to build one of the best versatile teams in the league.

The Texans spent the sixth most money in free agency this year, traded for wide receiver Stefon Diggs and running back Joe Mixon and are facing some of the NFL’s best teams after winning the AFC South in 2023.

They are one of the top contenders in the AFC alongside the Chiefs, Bills, Ravens and Jets. This also led to a huge rise in ticket prices.

Houston Texans tickets skyrocket after big 2024 offseason

Houston saw a nearly 100% increase in average ticket prices between 2023 and 2024, according to TickPick. This is the highest move among all NFL teams. Texans tickets increased from an average of $155 in 2023 to $309 for the 2024 season. The Lions saw the second highest movement, with a 68% increase, from $192 to $323. The Patriots placed third, even though their tickets became cheaper – from $416 to $226.

This all makes sense when you think about what the Texans have done over the past year. But it’s still surprising considering how bad this team has been from 2019 to 2022. Houston has only won 11 games during that stretch, which is one game more than the team won in 2023 only.

2024 TEXANS SEASON: Full schedule | Predictions | Prime time games | Predictions on the 53-man squad

A year ago, the Texans were coming off a 3-13-1 season. They had just drafted Stroud and Anderson with the No. 2 and 3 picks, respectively, with a first-year head coach in DeMeco Ryans and a first-year offensive signal caller in Bobby Slowik.

No one could have predicted what would happen next. Stroud became one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL almost overnight. The offense looked formidable with Slowik at the controls. The defense showed flashes of brilliance with Anderson Jr., fellow forward Jonathan Greenard and 2022 first-rounder Derek Stingley Jr. in the secondary.

The Texans went 10-7, won the AFC South for the first time since 2019 and upset the Browns in the wild-card round before the Ravens bludgeoned them in the divisional round.

Rather than resting on their laurels, the Texans got to work overhauling the team in 2024. They signed marquee names like Danielle Hunter, traded for Diggs and Mixon and added depth pieces during the NFL Draft. The NFL also gave them some huge primetime games, including a Halloween game against the Jets and a Christmas showdown with the Ravens.

This is a team to watch because of the hype, star power and their schedule. This is reflected in their ticket prices, which is both a good and bad thing for Texas fans. The days of being a laughing stock are over in Houston.
