AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Tuesday, Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN), an Austin-based nonprofit, activated its disaster response to help people affected by severe storms and flooding.

ADRN said it will focus on communities in the Houston and Hays County areas.

“Our dedicated teams are working around the clock to bring hope and comfort to those affected by the recent floods and storms. We are in response mode and constantly monitoring the situation to respond with the best possible efforts,” ADRN said.

The nonprofit organization asked Austin residents to join the volunteer efforts.

“Volunteers are essential to our mission, as they contribute to relief operations on the ground, distribute supplies and provide much-needed support to survivors,” ADRN said. “We urge those who are ready to make a difference to sign up for this crucial effort.” »

ADRN said it was also seeking donations to help replenish critically low stocks of cleaning buckets, hygiene kits and care kits for survivors.
