A handful of Houston-area schools are still closed, but many are open Wednesday

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Some Houston area school districts began opening for classes Wednesday after last week’s storms.

However, a handful of schools will remain closed in several of these neighborhoods.

Spring Branch ISD is open to all schools on Wednesdays except Tiger Trail, Housman, Hunters Creek and Westwood elementary schools. Additionally, Panda Path students and staff must report to Hollibrook Elementary School.

Cy-Fair ISD said most of its schools will be open Wednesday, except for five schools: Cypress Park High School, Holbrook Elementary School, Labay Middle School, Lowery Elementary School and Rowe Middle School. A transportation center in the district has no power, so CFISD buses may be late.

Galena Park ISD only has four schools that will be closed Wednesday. Only Cimarron Elementary, Cunningham Middle, Green Valley Elementary and Tice Elementary School will be closed, while the rest of the district’s schools will be open.
