News from Houston, Texas: Derek Hotel is closing its doors

In a statement posted on their website, Hotel Derek representatives expressed gratitude for more than 20 years of sponsorship within the Houston community.

HOUSTON — A boutique hotel in the Galleria neighborhood will soon close its doors.

The Derek Hotel, located at 2525 W. Loop S., announced it would close in June.

In a statement sent to KHOU 11 News, hotel representatives expressed their gratitude to the Houston community and travelers who have supported them for more than 20 years.

Representatives said, in part: “We look forward to witnessing the transformation ahead; supporting and soon passing the baton to a brand new hotel.”

The doors officially close on June 24.

For the moment, it is not known which hotel will take its place.

On June 24, 2024, Hotel Derek will close its doors after more than 20 years serving Houston. We are sincerely grateful to the local community for its decades of patronage, as well as to the travelers who have chosen the property as a base for discovering the city. We look forward to witnessing the transformation to come; support and hand over to a brand new hotel soon.
