The woman, who spoke anonymously to FOX 26, said that on Dec. 5 around 10 a.m., she was standing in one of West Gray’s driveways when the man approached her from behind and started whispering in his ear.

“He started saying everything he wanted to do to me,” the woman said. “It was really bad. I couldn’t believe this was happening. I freaked out and told him he was disgusting, and immediately went to get my friend in the other aisle.”

As she and her friend waited in line at the register to purchase their items, the woman said the man walked toward the front of the store making facial expressions at her and eventually walked away. bike. The woman described him as a black man wearing a blue jacket, beanie and carrying a backpack.

After coming out, she said she felt a cold substance on her back.

“When my friend looked at my clothes, she just freaked out,” she said. The woman eventually returned to the store to report the incident after returning home to shower and change.

“I told the manager, I was just sexually assaulted in the store. She turns around and yells in Spanish, ‘oh, one more… you’re the third case in less than four days.’

The women also preserved the evidence and reported it to the Houston Police Department. She alleges that requests to Dollar Tree for video surveillance of the store were denied.

Lawyers say Dollar Tree is creating a dangerous situation by understaffing its stores, contributing to their long history of thefts, burglaries and other violent crime problems.

Since the attack, the woman has reported nightmares and high levels of stress and anxiety. She says she is particularly afraid of men and finds it difficult to shop anywhere without constantly looking over her shoulder.

No arrests have been made in this case. FOX 26 contacted Dollar Tree corporate headquarters as well as Fidelis Realty Partners on Monday and is awaiting a response.

On May 14, a man was arrested for a similar incident involving a woman at a Whole Foods store in Atlanta, Georgia. Fox 5 reports he was arrested in Gwinnett County and charged with sexual assault and public indecency.
