Rideshare crime is getting wilder, but this one has to be at the top of the “WTF?” ! ” list.

According to a new report from WSB-TV, a former Atlanta police officer named Minor Koby readily admitted to shooting his Lyft driver in the head when he became suspicious of a phone call the driver was receiving.

Reginald’s people picked Minor up at another APD officer’s home and was on the phone speaking in another language. Minor told police he tried to get out of the car at a red light, but the door would not open. Inexplicably, Minor also told police that he was unsure of Folks’ sexuality, but when the driver walked toward the backseat of the vehicle, Minor shot him three times, including once at the head.

A woman who saw Minor calling for help also spoke to the police and told them the second craziest part of this story…

The witness told police that Minor told him his driver “was in a gay fraternity and was trying to recruit him” and that he thought he was being kidnapped.

The WSB-TV report also noted that Minor was on unpaid leave from his duties after being arrested in December 2023 while in possession of 20 Xanax pills following a car accident.

Following the shooting, Minor was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Seriously, WTF?!

NBC News did a follow-up report on the incident and spoke with Folks’ family who wants justice for the independent wrestler.

“He’s very popular, he has a lot of friends, but the problem is he really had a thing for respect and didn’t meddle in other people’s business,” Folks’ grieving mother said.
