Buffalo man pleads guilty to shooting victim on Bailey Avenue

Acting Erie County Prosecutor Michael J. Keane announces that Ryan M. Crawford, 23, of Buffalo pleaded guilty this morning before State Supreme Court Judge Debra Givens to one count of first-degree manslaughter (class “B” violent felony).

On Sunday, April 2, 2023, at approximately 2:25 a.m., the defendant shot the victim with an illegal handgun in the 800 block of Bailey Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The victim, Duryll Anderson, 38, was transported by ambulance to ECMC where he died from his injuries.

Crawford faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 2 p.m. He remains held without bail.

Acting DA Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department’s Homicide Squad for their work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Justin H. Caldwell of the Homicide Bureau and Assistant Prosecutor Briana RD Kalman of the Narcotics/Intelligence Bureau.
