5 out of 14 commemorative artists talk about the meaning of design

Last week marked the second anniversary of the mass shooting at a Tops supermarket in Buffalo, which left 10 people dead and three others injured.

Gov. Kathy Hochul also unveiled the state’s memorial to the lives lost, titled “Seeing Us.”

The design is by artists Jin Young Song and Douglass Alligood. Song is an associate professor of architecture at the University at Buffalo. Alligood works for the world-renowned design company Bjarke Ingels Group.
