Why is this election important?

The results will determine who represents each party in the general election — and in key nonpartisan races or where only one party has a candidate, who will likely be the winner.

Ballots will include candidates for county commission, sheriff, district attorney and some municipal offices, as well as seats in Georgia Congress and the Georgia Legislature. The nonpartisan portion of the vote will include referendums and state and local judicial elections.
