Radom and Triten redevelop historic packing plant in Houston

Capital of Radom and Triten Real Estate Partners are ready to break ground on their adaptive reuse project at 621 Waverly St. The two Houston-based companies plan to transform the former Swift and Co. meat refinery at 621 Waverly St. into a 60,000-foot space squares. mix of retail and creative office space that will also include up to six restaurants. The property is next to MKT, a Triten and Radom mixed-use project redeveloped in 2021.

The Austin Business Journal reports that the buildings acquired by Radom Capital and Triten Real Estate Partners were constructed in the early 1900s and expanded in the 1950s. Both companies hired Austin-based architectural firm Michael Hsu, to design the project.

On the ground floor, Radom Capital and Triten Real Estate Partners hope to install a French bistro. Moving west, the property has a two-story component, which accounts for most of the square footage. The second floor of this section will be split between a rooftop cocktail bar and boutique offices. The final feature is a free-standing building that once served as Swift’s fat rendering facility.
