TGI Fridays will close in downtown Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Despite surviving a recent round of company-wide closures, the downtown Buffalo location of TGI Fridays now appears to be closing its doors at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Buffalo -Downtown.

Buffalo Hotel Associates LLC, a subsidiary of Visions Hotels Inc. – the company that owns the Holiday Inn – has informed the city of Buffalo that it plans to apply for a liquor license at the 601 Main St. site for a restaurant and a full liquor license.

A paralegal from the law firm representing the company that signed the notice confirmed that a new restaurant would replace TGI Fridays.

Separately, the space was listed on April 19 by Donovan Real Estate Services as available for lease beginning June 30, 2024, or earlier with 30 days’ notice.
