13 Traffic Alert: Northbound I-610 East Loop at Ship Channel Bridge Closed After Fatal Crash

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Police have closed all northbound lanes of the I-610 East Loop at the Ship Channel Bridge as they investigate a fatal crash Thursday morning.

It happened around 3 a.m.

Since then, the backups have turned into delays of at least an hour, beyond Highway 225.

If you are arriving from the La Porte district for example, you should also expect delays.

We don’t yet know what caused the accident, but it is listed on Transtar as a one-vehicle fire.

One person was killed.

All northbound traffic on the loop is forced to exit onto Clinton Drive.

You can use the Washburn Tunnel or the East Sam Houston Tollway as alternate routes.
