TRAFFIC ALERT: Fatal crash closes Loop 610 East

HOUSTON (CW39) – The northbound lanes of Loop 610 East remain closed this morning after a deadly crash. Around 3 a.m., HPD responded to a major incident on the 610 and found a car on fire had crashed into trees on the side of the highway. According to HPD, the car struck an 18-wheeler and left the road, hitting trees. The driver died instantly. Expect delays.

As of 5:30 a.m., traffic was still surging behind the incident heading toward Manchester St.
