Atlanta News First distributes ‘books to kids’ at College Park Elementary School

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Research shows that if children aren’t reading proficiently by third grade, they will likely never catch up.

The Atlanta News First team is at College Park Elementary School to deliver books to young learners and build their reading confidence.

ANF ​​anchors and meteorologists, Georgia State University cheerleaders and Pounce, GSU’s official mascot, are on campus to help distribute 2,760 books.

The Books to Kids initiative began in 2018 and since then, more than 86,000 books have been distributed to children in the metro Atlanta community.
