Hot and dry today, but our next threat of flooding and severe weather arrives in Houston tomorrow

Today’s forecast:

Enjoy this morning because it’s the last time we start the day in the 60s! The 70s return tomorrow, and will last throughout the extended forecast. We warm up to 90° this afternoon under mostly sunny skies and light winds. Due to these conditions, air quality may be problematic later this afternoon. A day of action for ozone is in effect.

Threat of flooding tomorrow:

After a two-day break, the storms return Thursday. Similar to our recent storm systems, this one brings a high threat of flooding. The threat is highest in our northern cities, but we all face at least some threat of street flooding. Currently, estimated precipitation totals are 1-3″, with higher amounts of 5″-7″ north of I-10.

There could be a few lingering showers Friday morning. Starting this weekend, we are heading into a much more stable, storm-free weather pattern. But it’s also a more summery pattern with heat and humidity starting this weekend.
