Exa establishes new route between Ashburn and Atlanta

Atlanta is emerging as a key data center hub and is the fastest growing data center market in the United States, according to the CBRE North America Data Center Trends H2 2023 report.

Data center projects under active construction in Atlanta increased 211% between the first half of 20243 and the second half of 2023, with notable major campus developments on the drawing board, as noted in the report.

The new report will follow the Appalachian base and present a “resilient and diverse” offering among all existing options on this route.

Exa will deploy the new Ciena Flex DWDM system for optimal latency and options up to 400G.

“This is a major milestone for EXA Infrastructure as we continue to execute on our broader strategy to connect the high-growth data center markets in North America,” said Steve Roberts, vice-president. Executive President of Strategic Investments and Product Management at Exa Infrastructure.

“Atlanta is a key market for many of our customers, including those in AI-focused industries, and this new route will meet their connectivity needs to Europe and beyond.”

This network expansion in North America aligns with Exa Infrastructure’s investment strategy to expand its extensive network and provide more online route combinations for connectivity to new data center markets and to across the Atlantic.

Customers will be able to access end-to-end “online” tours from Atlanta to London, achieving greater operational efficiency and control.
