A Montana woman was stalked and chased through Greenwich Village by a sexual predator after exiting a subway station, then attacked on a dark street.

The urban nightmare occurred around 1:30 a.m. on September 15 when the 29-year-old victim exited the West Fourth Street train station and felt a stranger following her.

She started running but was caught by her pursuer near West 11th Street, police said.

“I don’t want your phone. “I want to please you,” the attacker growled as he grabbed her, police sources said.

He threw the woman to the ground, straddled her, then groped and hit her while barking, “Don’t fight. Don’t scream. I will kill you,” police sources told The Post.

According to the sources, the woman, who was bleeding from the face and had her arms and knees cut, managed to escape.

Her attacker, who was captured on surveillance tape, is still at large.

The horrific encounter – classified as attempted rape – comes amid a worrying rise in rapes this year.

Women’s advocate Jane Manning, a former sex crimes prosecutor and director of Women’s Equal Justice, asked what the city was doing to address the problem.

“New Yorkers want to know how to respond to these crimes, especially since the NYPD’s Victims Unit was already understaffed before this increase,” Manning said.

Retired NYPD Chief Michael Osgood, who was removed from his post as head of the Special Victims Unit following an audit of the troubled unit by the city’s Department of Investigation in 2018, said: “A key factor in the increase in rape in any community is the height.” There is increasing public unrest and the level of public unrest in New York City has increased.
