Suspect surrendered and charged with murder

A 57-year-old man turned himself in to police Friday, nearly a week after he allegedly fatally shot an attorney during an altercation at a Houston McDonald’s.

Anthony Martin Landry has been charged with the May 4 murder of Jeffrey Limmer, 46, Houston police said in a news release. He is currently being held at the Harris County Jail, police said.

Houston police found Limmer “unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds” and paramedics said he died a short time later, according to the department.

Police said Landry fled the scene in a blue early 2000s Ford pickup truck after shooting Limmer multiple times.

Anthony Landry was angry about the McDonald’s order

The shooting stemmed from a “verbal disagreement” between Landry and Limmer, according to police. Trouble arose when Landry asked for a refund after becoming angry with McDonald’s staff over his order, ABC 13 reported, citing detectives.

A sign is posted outside a McDonald's restaurant on January 27, 2022 in El Cerrito, California.

Limmer, an associate in Lewis Brisbois’ Houston office, intervened to defuse the conflict, but his attempt to help prompted Landry to focus on him, according to the television station.

The two men fought, and at one point Limmer pushed Landry to the ground, ABC 13 said. Landry then grabbed a gun from his vehicle and shot Limmer.
