Prince Harry and Meghan LIVE: Colombia trip continues | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will begin the third day of their four-day quasi-royal tour to Colombia on Saturday.

The couple have been surrounded by an iron security ring since their arrival in Bogotà on August 15, amid ongoing concerns about their safety.

Colombia is classified as a Level 3 country on the US State Department’s travel warning list. Tourists are urged to reconsider their plans as the risk of becoming a victim of crime or terrorism is very high. During an excursion yesterday, a security guard was seen holding what is believed to be a Kevlar shield over the couple.

Despite security concerns, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to visit the coastal city of Cartagena before embarking on an hour-long drive to the village of San Basilio de Palenque.

The city, founded in the 17th century by escaped slaves, has been declared an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.
