Man Killed at Trump Rally Was Buffalo Twp.; Fire Chief – ButlerRadio.com

The man who was fatally shot at Trump’s rally in Butler yesterday has been identified.

Corey Comperatore of Buffalo Township died as a gunman attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump.

“I just spoke with Corey’s wife and two daughters. Corey loved his community and especially loved his family. Corey was a huge supporter of the former president and was very happy to be there with him last night in the community,” Shapiro said at a news conference Sunday afternoon at the Butler Township Municipal Building.

Comperatore was the father of two daughters. Shapiro also said Comperatore’s wife wanted to make sure her husband was honored for being a hero.

“She asked me to tell you that Corey died a hero. Corey threw himself into his family’s arms last night at that rally. Corey was the best of us. May his memory be a blessing,” Shapiro said.

Comperatore was a volunteer firefighter with the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company and had served as chief.

The two other spectators seriously injured in the shooting have still not been identified.

State Representative Marci Mustello, who represents Buffalo Township, released a statement.

“It is with great sadness that I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends and community of Corey Comperatore, who has left us far too soon. Corey was a dedicated public servant, having served as Fire Chief of the Buffalo Township Fire Company, and he was a valued member of our Butler County community,” Mustello said in a statement.

“His commitment to his wife and two daughters, as well as his unwavering dedication to his role as fire chief, exemplify his remarkable character. My heart breaks for his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time, and I join the community in mourning his loss. A true American hero, Corey sacrificed his life to protect his family.
