The Buffalo Bills’ playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers will now be played Monday at 4:30 p.m. ET, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced Saturday afternoon.

With 2 to 3 inches of snow expected to fall at the height of the storm, Erie County issued a total travel ban starting at 9 p.m. Saturday, Hochul said.

Forecasters predicted a temperature of 24 degrees, heavy snow and winds of 40 to 50 mph for the game’s originally scheduled start time of 1 p.m. Sunday. The Bills sent a message to fans and citizens on Friday, offering to pay those willing to come and help prepare for the game.

AccuWeather predicted seven inches of snow for Highmark Stadium at the time of the game, if it was still played Sunday. Two years ago, Buffalo lost 14-10 to the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football in icy, snowy conditions that saw neither offense gain any traction over the 60 minutes. That evening, the teams played in swirling 55 mph winds.

The Bills (11-6) won the AFC East with a 21-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins in the regular-season finale. They enter the playoffs as the AFC’s No. 2 seed, and the Steelers — seventh seed — also made the dance with a 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the final game of the regular season.

This is the fourth playoff game between Buffalo and Pittsburgh (10-7), although it is the first time the Steelers have faced the Bills. According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, the winner of this game will now play next Sunday, not Saturday, due to the schedule change.
