Six people died in a traffic accident in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar: At least six people, including children, were killed and seven others injured when a jeep plunged into a river in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday, police said.

The accident occurred in the province’s Chitral district when the 14-seater jeep they were travelling in skidded off a mountain track and plunged into the Chitral River, police said.

Rescue teams recovered the bodies and took them to hospital.

The injured were taken to a hospital.

Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the tragic road accident.

Gandapur instructed the hospital authorities to provide the best possible medical treatment to the injured.
