Suspected drunk driver hits and kills pedestrian in south Houston

A man was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking southbound in south Houston late Saturday night.

The incident occurred at 11:57 p.m. in the 8500 block of Mykawa.

According to HPD, the road was dark and difficult to see, and a northbound pickup truck struck the man, who was believed to be in his 30s.

The driver of the van remained at the scene but showed signs of intoxication.

HPD officers are investigating the incident and have not yet released the identity of the victim or driver.
