Buffalo Bills offensive star has no hesitation in trusting QB Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is preparing for what is expected to be one of the most difficult seasons of his NFL career.

The Bills lost their top two receivers, Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, this offseason, which created an interesting situation on Buffalo’s depth chart.

The Bills signed Curtis Samuel in free agency and selected Keon Coleman in the second round of the NFL draft.

Still, there’s a lot of uncertainty at the position, leading some to wonder how Allen will fare in 2024.

Well, Buffalo Pro Bowl offensive lineman Dion Dawkins says Allen seems more focused than ever.

“Josh is one of those guys who will do what he needs to do in that moment,” Dawkins said during an appearance on The Herd. “He’s really vocal when the moment comes. In fact, I’ve seen Josh bark a lot more in those OTAs where he’s been very, very verbal, because our team is different. It’s different. We have young guys that when they come in, they see a little bit of success, and they can change, so Josh does exactly what he needs to do.”

We’ll see if that barking translates into success on the field next season.

Josh Allen must improve in the future

Allen hasn’t been great in 2023.

The two-time Pro Bowler turned the ball over 22 times last season, second-worst in the league behind Sam Howell.

He threw for 4,306 yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions while completing 66.5 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 92.2.

Compare that to last season, when Allen threw for 35 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while posting a 96.6 passer rating, and you’ll see the University of Wyoming product took a step backward last season. with Diggs and Davis in tow.

What will Allen do without these two?

Maybe Allen will rise to the challenge, knowing the burden will be even greater in September. Or maybe he will struggle through one of the worst years of his career.

Regardless, there’s no doubt the Bills’ four-game AFC East title streak is on the line heading into 2024.

It’s up to Josh Allen to make sure Buffalo maintains its dominance.
