The commission is required by state law to prepare population estimates for the city of Atlanta, as well as the 11 counties in the region. The counties documented include Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale.
