Honolulu tops the list, but globally, Atlanta ranks 29th, according to CNBC.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens reacted enthusiastically to the big news on Facebook.

“Surpassing other major cities like New York, (Los Angeles) and San Francisco, Atlanta is making a name for itself as a premier destination for quality of life. Our city’s rapid growth and booming industries, from transportation to technology to film and television production, make it a thriving metropolis,” Dickens wrote in his article.

“Our beautiful neighborhoods, our thriving restaurants and arts scenes, being named the best place to start a business in 2023, there’s a lot to be excited about. Plus, with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the busiest airport in the world, and the BeltLine, we’re always well-connected and full of opportunity. Let’s keep Atlanta moving forward.”

Atlanta is home to several well-known attractions, such as the Fox Theatre, and is home to the headquarters of several companies, including Coca-Cola, Chick-fil-A, and Delta Air Lines.

In September 2023, the Atlanta metro area was named by LinkedIn as the best place to start a business.

The EIU report looked at stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. International cities are examined based on their quality of life, CNBC reported.

Each city could earn a maximum of 100 points. It is not known how many points Atlanta earned.
