The Buffalo Bills once had a top-10 receiver of all time

He may not be known for his time with the Buffalo Bills, but there’s no denying that it happened.

The 33rd team released its list of the top 10 receivers in NFL history. Former Bills player Terrell Owens was selected.

In 2009, Owens signed a one-year contract with the Bills. In his lone season in Buffalo, he caught 55 passes for 829 yards and six touchdowns. He also scored a rushing touchdown.

Owens, now a Hall of Famer, may have had a lonely season with the Bills, but he previously wanted to stay with the team for another year. Owens is also often positive about his season in Buffalo, having attended home games at Orchard Park since retiring.

Owens was incredibly reliable and explosive, with a Greek-god physique, a physical style of play, and surprising speed for his size. He never led the league in yards in a season, but he did run three times for touchdowns. Only in his rookie season did he throw for fewer than 754 yards, and he broke the 1,000-yard mark nine times in 15 years.

Owens was so good that he still threw for 983 yards and nine touchdowns in just 14 games in his swansong season with the Bengals at age 37. He finished his career third in receiving yards and touchdowns and eighth in receptions.

Due to his brash personality, he was often considered his own worst enemy, but it is hard to imagine that he could have produced even more had he continued playing.
