VOTE: Houston’s Destinee Cortez in Rolling Stone’s ‘Next Top Hitmaker’ Contest

HOUSTON (KIAH) – Destiny Cortez is a Houston-based singer and actress looking to break into the music industry by competing to become America’s next top hitmaker. Sponsored by Rolling Stone, the first leg of the competition ends on Thursday, July 11, and the young singer needs Houston’s support to beat the competition.

Destiny Cortez is a Houston-based singer and actress looking to make her breakthrough in the music industry.

She is currently in 2nd place in her round and if she wins, she will advance to the next part of the competition, closer to her goal of winning $10,000 and the opportunity to perform at the Rolling Stone Future of Music Showcase in Austin, Texas.


THE “To take notes” The singer said she wants to use the $10,000 to create music videos and studio time, but she will make sure to help her parents first.

“I really like helping people in need, so I hope I can give to children or people who need it.”

The competition is also sponsored by the Gibson Gives Foundation with charity ambassador, Busta Rhymeswho will also act as a mentor for the winning act.
