1. Biden tells Hill Democrats he ‘refuses’ to step down, says it’s time for party drama to ‘end’

President Joe Biden, in a letter to congressional Democrats, strongly opposed calls for him to drop his candidacy and called for an “end” to the intraparty drama that has torn Democrats apart since his poor performance in public debates.

2. Major Russian missile attack on Ukraine kills at least 20, hits children’s hospital

A major Russian missile attack in Ukraine killed at least 20 people and wounded more than 50 on Monday, authorities said, with one missile hitting a large children’s hospital in the capital, kyiv, where emergency crews were searching through the rubble for victims.

3. Beryl downgraded to tropical storm, knocking out power to 1.5 million people

As Beryl continues to batter the central Texas coast, it has been downgraded to a tropical storm. Maximum winds continue to weaken as it moves inland, but Beryl is still capable of causing flash flooding and severe weather.

4. For the first time, more than 3 million people pass through U.S. airport security in one day

The record, which was set to occur over the July 4 holiday weekend, surpassed the record set on June 23, when more than 2.99 million passengers were screened. Eight of the 10 busiest days in TSA history have occurred this year, with the number of travelers surpassing pre-pandemic levels.

5. New York State Hotline Celebrates First Anniversary as Text-Based Resource

The Quitline has been around for 24 years, helping 1 million people quit smoking and the help available is free.

6. Growing number of employees using health and wellness equipment in their workplace

Many companies have incorporated health and wellness amenities into the workplace. According to the National Institute of Health, 87% of employers who invest in such initiatives see increased employee productivity and reduced health care costs.
