Josh Allen is clearly the Buffalo Bills’ MVP in 2024

In a somewhat shocking move, quarterback Josh Allen has been predicted to be the Buffalo Bills’ MVP for the 2024 season.

NFL.com conducted an offseason exercise to guess which player would be each team’s MVP for the upcoming season. Given Allen’s position, it’s no surprise he was selected. Many quarterbacks are.

However, in the Bills’ case, it’s even more important. With the many decisions Buffalo management has had to make this offseason, Allen will have to carry the load. Changes have been made on both sides of the ball, but the most notable is the departure of receiver Stefon Diggs.

Allen will have a big responsibility for the Bills in 2024. Can he do it?

Here’s how NFL.com projects Allen’s “MVP prediction” for 2024:

On one hand, you could argue that the offseason purge robbed Allen of key weapons and weakened his support system, and as a result, Buffalo needs to win games differently in this post-Stefon Diggs era. But I’ll take the other side of the coin and argue that Allen and his game-changing ability have never been more important to the team. In short, the Bills will go as far as Allen can take them — and in the long run, he might even end up being a better quarterback than he was before.

Look, you won’t find many bigger fans of Matt Milano linebacker than me, and maybe Greg Rousseau has a 15-sack season up his sleeve in 2024. But with Milano coming back from a major leg injury and Rousseau still a promising player as a fourth-year pro, this one isn’t even close. No amount of mental gymnastics can change my mind about Allen — aka, the obvious and only choice now.
