For the first time since Wednesday, Beryl’s trajectory has remained constant. There are no major changes in the forecast for landfall or strength.

Where is Beryl heading:

Beryl is focused on Matagorda Bay. Below are three different perspectives on where Beryl is expected to ultimately make landfall. Being so close to land, the data largely agrees. Beryl will arrive as a hurricane early Monday morning. The hurricane will be a Category 1 or 2. There are 10% of the hurricanes it makes that are Category 3.

A Hurricane Warning and a Storm Warning are in effect. Life-threatening winds and storm surge will occur. Please take these warnings seriously!

When the winds come and how strong they will be where you live:

Tropical storm force winds arrive at 2 p.m. Sunday along the coast. These winds will become stronger with Beryl’s arrival Monday morning. Tropical storm force winds start at 39 mph and increase to 74. If you are inland, the graphs below show the wind strength where you live.

Flood Warning for Most of Southeast Texas:

The rain we received Saturday was not from Beryl but from summer thunderstorms. Be prepared for outlying rain bands to move in Sunday afternoon and bring tropical rain from Beryl. 5 to 10 inches of rain is possible, causing flooding in streets, bayous, streams and creeks. Please adjust your plans Sunday night and Monday with this threat in mind.
