WNBA Dream vs. Wings Prediction, Odds and Key Players for Friday, July 5 (Dream Under

Two injury-ravaged teams will face off Friday in WNBA action as the Dallas Wings host the Atlanta Dream.

Dallas has just four wins this season and is coming off a tough loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday night, but it enters this game as a favorite against Atlanta.

The Dream are without several key players, including Jordin Canada and Rhyne Howard, who have contributed just 3-7 records over their last 10 games.

Can they pull off a win on the road tonight? Here’s a look at the odds, key players and my best bet for the game.

Wing Injury Report

The Atlanta Dream

Allisha Gray: In the absence of Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray has been huge for the Dream, scoring 17, 24 and 19 points in her last three games while shooting 8-of-16 from three-point range. The Dream also lost Jordin Canada to a broken hand, so they’ll need even more talent from Gray to stay afloat in the standings.

Dallas Wings

Arike Ogunbowale: The Wings have relied heavily on Ogunbowale this season, and the All-Star guard has delivered, averaging 23.8 points per game. While his efficiency has been affected, Ogunbowale has scored at least 20 points in 17 of his 19 games in 2024.

Dallas has only won one game since late May, so I really have a hard time giving the Wings any points here, no matter how bad Atlanta is.

Even without Howard and Canada, the Dream still have two star players in Allisha Gray and Tina Charles, as well as Cheyenne Parker-Tyus (9.7 points per game) who they can count on to pick up the slack.

Dallas is a terrible 2-6 ATS at home this season while the Dream are 5-3 ATS on the road.

With this rough patch (which lasted most of June), Dallas has fallen to last place in the league in net rating. I simply can’t get behind the Wings as a favorite, with both teams being less than 100%.

Choice: Dream +3.5 (-105)
