Heading to Atlanta? GC Buying Group Summer Conference is Ready for Buyers

ATLANTA — The GC Buying Group is preparing for its summer training conference at Atlanta Market later this month. The conference will kick off with the GC Party in the Kitchen for members and representatives on the evening of Wednesday, July 17.

A record number of store members will attend store panel discussions and a special message from keynote speaker Warren Shoulberg the following day, the group said in a statement.

Additionally, eight key GC suppliers will provide training for small groups while store buyers will rotate between eight individual supplier stations. The Supplier Showcase will feature more than 40 suppliers, including suppliers new to the GC buying group and suppliers showcasing new products. Showroom owners in Building 2, on the 8th floor, will welcome GC members in the late afternoon with beverages and snacks, as well as product evaluations.

“We are thrilled that more than 100 buyers, representing 60 stores, registered for the GCX educational event,” said Janis Johnson, president and founder of Gourmet Catalog/GC Buying Group. “Retailers are excited to kick off the second half of the year with the opportunity to make purchasing decisions and engage one-on-one with key new suppliers.”

GC recently added new member benefits and sales tools to enhance the existing special exclusive events, discounts, extended terms and networking offered by the buying group.

“As GC proudly celebrates its 44th year of serving independent retailers, we continue to streamline processes to build better relationships and strengthen the bridge between GC stores and suppliers,” said Johnson.
