‘Permanently Disfigured’: Houston Man Charged With Practicing Dentistry Without a License, Botching Dental Veneer Procedure

HOUSTON – A Houston man is currently wanted by police after being accused of practicing dentistry without a license.

Jadan Miorke, 34, is accused of practicing dentistry without a license. He is not currently in custody.

Court documents show Miorke performed a veneer procedure at Forever Veneers located off the Southwest Freeway.

The alleged victim in the case told authorities he saw an ad on Instagram for the firm, which offered 20 veneers for $8,700.

The victim filled out the paperwork to get approved and was told the process would take place over three visits, the first being a Zoom interview.

On February 22, court documents show the victim showed up at the office to begin the procedure where she was told her teeth would first have to be cleaned and then 3D scanned by Miorke.

On March 13, the victim returned for her final appointment. Miorke used dental power tools to grind down the surface of the victim’s teeth so the veneers would adhere to her natural teeth.

Once the teeth were ground down, documents show Miorke applied glue to the victim’s teeth and placed the veneers on top of the glue. The victim told authorities that Miorke was the only one in the room during the entire process.

According to the documents, after a few weeks, the victim began having problems with her veneers and molars. The victim stated that because the veneers were on the front of her teeth, her back molars were not touching, causing a noticeable gap. The space between her upper and lower molars made it difficult for her to chew her food and caused a malocclusion of her other teeth.

Additionally, the documents show that because the veneers were not properly placed, air pockets developed between the surface of the victim’s teeth and the veneers.

Informed of the problems, Miorke told the victim he had to return to Houston.

Documents show that police looked into Miorke’s background and found he did not have a dental, hygienist or assistant license, which are required to perform the veneer procedure.

The victim told authorities that her teeth were “permanently disfigured” as a result of the procedure.
