Buffalo man sentenced to prison for fatal January 2023 shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Buffalo man has been sentenced to prison for a fatal shooting in January 2023.

The Erie County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Louis C. Goforth, 40, was sentenced Friday in Erie County Court to 20 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.

The District Attorney’s Office said that on Jan. 22, 2023, Goforth shot Mario Saddler, 39, with an illegal weapon in the 200 block of East Ferry Street. Saddler died at the scene.

Goforth pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter in February.
