One dead, one seriously injured after single-vehicle crash on I-190 in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — One person died and another was seriously injured early Sunday morning after a vehicle lost control and crashed into a median on I-190 in Buffalo, New York State Police said.

Police said officers responded around 2:10 a.m. to southbound I-190 near the Niagara Street exit for a single-vehicle crash.

An investigation determined that a Nissan Altima was traveling on I-190 at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and crashed into the end of the Exit 8 deceleration ramp, according to police.

Police said the driver, Damaree M. Lattimore, 20, of Hamburg, was pronounced deceased at the scene and his body was transported to ECMC for an autopsy. A 19-year-old passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. There has been no update on the passenger’s condition.

An investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
