UB Jacobs School of Medicine welcomes medical residents

The University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine welcomed 199 medical residents in a white coat ceremony Friday morning.

Residents will now train in a medical or surgical specialty with which they have been matched for the next three to seven years.

“This is an opportunity for us to discuss humanism in medicine,” said Dr. Gregory Cherr, senior associate dean for graduate medical education at the Jacobs School of Medicine. “Practicing patient- and family-centered care, but also supporting each other throughout this long and difficult journey. “.

The residents, currently on rotation, will practice in various doctors’ offices and hospitals throughout Erie, Niagara and Cattaraugus counties.
