Atlanta Braves Pitcher Ian Anderson Joins Augusta GreenJackets

Former Atlanta Braves pitcher Ian Anderson is expected to begin his rehabilitation with the Augusta GreenJackets. He is expected to start Sunday’s game at 1:35 p.m. against the Charleston RiverDogs.

The third overall pick in the 2016 MLB draft, Anderson has 52 career big league starts under his belt. He is 22-13 on the mound with a 3.97 ERA for his career and helped the Braves win the 2021 World Series title over the Houston Astros. His last major league appearance came in 2022.

Anderson made just one appearance with Triple-A Gwinnett in 2023 and spent more than a year recovering from a torn ACL. Before joining the GreenJackets, he pitched five innings in two appearances with the Braves’ Florida Complex League affiliate over the past two weeks.
